FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS

With effect from 1 April 2011, A/Prof Tan Say Beng has been appointed as Executive Director of NMRC.

Say Beng has been actively involved with the biomedical research community in Singapore since 1999. His previous appointments include Chief Scientific Officer of the Singapore Clinical Research Institute, Director of the Clinical Trials and Epidemiology Research Unit (CTERU), Principal Biostatistician and Head Strategic Planning at the National Cancer Centre Singapore, Director Biostatistics and Quantitative Epidemiology at SingHealth and Director of the Centre for Quantitative Medicine in Duke-NUS.

He is Associate Professor in Duke-NUS, as well as Adjunct Associate Professor in the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS and in the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, Duke University. He sits on the Editorial Board of several international journals and has a number of grants and research publications. He has also authored two books on clinical trial methodology.
